mexico hurricane season 2009
All Inclusive Honeymoon?

Our wedding date is August, 1st 2009. We are wanting to goto a “All Inclusive” alcohol included resort in a tropical setting. I originally wanted to book a 7 day trip to The Sandals Resort, until I was watching the news on tv and saw that the area was getting hit head-on by a hurricane. I know we are getting married in the middle of hurricane season. What I was wondering is if the west coast of Mexico gets hit as much, if not less then the east coast? Would this be a better option? What about Cancun, abd the Belize area (does it get hit head-on as much)? HELP ME!!!!! I want this to be her best vacation!!!

First, Congrats on the marriage. Well, the west coast of Mexico doesn’t get hit as much as the east coast, but both have seen their fair share of hurricanes. The good thing is that hurricane season really doesn’t “pick-up” until late August, so if you go in the beginning you will be less likely to encounter one, but nothing is 100%. The Caribbean can be tricky during hurricane season. You could go to the west coast of Mexico, but I wouldn’t recommend it if you want her to have the best vacation. The west coast isn’t as pretty as the east. It doesn’t have the beautiful blue, turquoise waters like Cancún. I wouldn’t really recommend Belize for a honeymoon either. It doesn’t get hit as much as the other places, but there are better honeymoon locations than Belize. My suggestion, since you want her to have the most romantic, unbelievable honeymoon ever would be one of these two locations…Cap Juluca or Pink Sands Resort. These are both jewels of the Caribbean that have been on the top ten honeymoon vacations spots on the travel channel and not that many people know about them. They are both amazingly gorgeous and make for the most romantic honeymoon you could ever have. Cap Juluca is located in the Bermuda and is insulated from the outside world so to speak. It’s relaxing, gorgeous and serene. Pink Sands Resort is another option and it also is amazing gorgeous. It is located in the Bahamas and is a stunning site to see. The sand is actually pink! It’s the most amazing thing you have ever seen. Beautiful pink sand and the gorgeous turquoise water makes for an amazing site to see. It’s absolutely gorgeous in every way! One of these two places would make for the best honeymoon ever and one you and your wife will never forget. They are both true paradise locations in the Caribbean. Good luck in whatever you choose, but if you want the most romantic, gorgeous honeymoon destination then I would highly recommend one of these two jewels of the Caribbean. Congratulations again and have a great honeymoon!!!
